Abstract

This chapter presents a pragmatic account of the current clinical use of hypnosis, not as a magic bullet, but with a different perspective on existing models of treatment. Its use in cognitive and analytical models of therapy is considered, with reference to listening techniques in case formulation, and the application of specific hypnotic techniques for the management and treatment of eating disorders.
