Abstract

This chapter discusses considerations of religion, spirituality, and other faiths that are important to integrate in the counseling process. These considerations include culturally responsive definitions of key constructs related to religion, spirituality, and other faiths. Readers will gain increased knowledge of spiritual development models, adaptive and maladaptive forms of spiritual and religious coping, spiritual and religious assessments, and considerations for applying religious and spiritual concepts when working with individuals, couples, and families. Culturally responsive counseling interventions are discussed.
