Abstract

Reflection is a key component of the internship experience. This chapter explores the meaning, practice, and value of reflection, both in the context of experiential learning and as an essential element for personal and professional growth. Examples of internship, practicum, and field work assessments such as weekly report templates and preceptor forms for evaluating interns are provided. Strategies for engaging in effective reflection are highlighted, as well as hands-on activities to practice self-reflection techniques. Additionally, consideration is given to making connections between the information gained through reflection and its application to one’s future actions.
